Research and science
Research is an integral part of what we do. We pose questions in basic and applied research.
We have worked on research projects in social and developmental psychology, methodology, psychometrics and psychological diagnostics, psychotherapy, and psychology of work. We are members of many international scientific associations, and we regularly hold specialist conferences and share our findings with both specialist and general audiences.
We simply love science and research.
Research institutes
The department incorporates The Center for Psychotherapy Research. Other teams research the psychology of work and organization. The main research is carried out at the Institute for Research of Children, Youth and Family, whose members also work at the department.
The department issues four peer-reviewed academic journals.
Cyberpsychology is the only journal at Masaryk University with an impact factor listed in the Web of Science database. It is also valued as the best social sciences journal in the Czech Republic, listed among the 25% of journals with the highest impact factor in the field of “social sciences” and “communication” (Q1) according to Scopus database.
The other three journals are listed in the ERIH+ database, or in the list of non-impact peer-reviewed periodicals.
